Phosphoria lamps start with the basic "Butcher block" form. The block is hand turned to the shape desired.
Shades are made of wood veneer, applying several layers at a time. This creates a hand made, super thin plywood using extraordinary veneers.
Most of these species are available in reclaimed stock. Reclaimed wood generally has superior grain and quality, and is largely a first choice over renewable species.
Lamp bodies can be stained or left natural. They have a hard wax or water based polyurethane finish.
